The monitor is just for browsing or demoing to people who can't handle VR,it works great, but I race/fly with my VIVE anyway. I can also recommend adding a seat rail system to move the seat back and forth like in a real car for fast/small adjustments or standing up/sitting down (Locking lever on the profiles, to fix the seat in place, would also work for adjustments.).įurther, I have added a flexible mount for the keyboard and the joystick base can be opened with hinges and a magnetic lock mechanism. MFG Crosswind pedals don't fit in the free space, so they have to be mounted between the seat and the wheel base. Smaller flight pedals could fit between the base profiles, however e.g. ![]() Without the joysticks, it would be 560mm wide, with sticks ~850mm, 1400mm length. 40x80mm are enough, even 40x40mm base profiles would work and they would reduce the costs a bit, corner brakets are the most expensive part though. I used 40x120mm profiles for the base, but more for the look than stability. It's inspired by the rigs of Heusinkveld and MonsterTech. I have built my own 8020, because I couldn't find the right prebuilt one for me. ![]()
